Who Can Use and Create Open-Source Materials?
Open source materials can be created by anyone, and academic scholarship has increasingly embraced more accessible models in recent years. This approach fosters both creativity and collaboration, offering resources that are not only free to use but can also be tailored to meet the specific needs of any course.
Found an Open Textbook You Want to Use?
Found your textbook and ready to adopt? Fill out the BCcampus Adoption form. Faculty adoption information is important to the long term viability of the BCcampus open textbook project.
Submitted Adoption Forms now automatically populate the adoption stats on the BCcampus home page and the newly expanded Open Textbook Stats page. Because of this, it has become even more important that B.C. post-secondary faculty who have adopted an open textbook fill out this form every semester.
Have questions?
Once you've chosen an open textbook, you can easily share it with your students by adding the link to your Moodle course, giving them instant access to the online version.
If you're using a BCcampus open textbook, your students also have the option to purchase a low-cost print copy for added convenience.
