Resources and Tools for the Dental Hygiene Program

Vancouver Citations and Study Resources

The Medical Laboratory Technology Program utilizes the Vancouver Citation Style for all essays and assignments.

  • The Librarians at CNC will be happy to review your references if you contact them via phone, virtual, email, or face-to-face.
  • If you would like someone to review your project you can also contact the Academic Success Center in the Learning Commons.
  • Please conduct these contacts early as the librarians and Success Center instructors can't help you if your paper is due only hours from the moment you ask for assistance.

Some resources available for assistance with Vancouver Style include:

Vancouver Style  - CNC Library Information Sheet (PDF file)

Citing Medicine: NLM style guide (2nd ed. 2007+ continuous updates)

List of All Journals Cited in PubMed (includes title abbreviations)

Reserve Materials

A large amount of material has been placed on Reserve for Dental students. The material is available for Dental students at CNC to sign out for several hours at a time, but the material is for library only use and may not be taken out of the library.

There are a large number of videos that may be used at a video station that is available in the library.

To look at lists of reserve material go to the CNC Classic Catalogue  Choose Reserve Desk on the Grey bar and search for Dental in "Lookup Items on Reserve by Course Name". This will give you all of the material currently available for Nursing students in the Library.
